Job Profile
The position will initially be based at Oil, Gas & Process offices in Manchester, but will require visits to site.
For the first year (until May 2010) this would be on a one day a week basis extending to about 3 days per week.
From November 2010 this will become a site-based position with occasional visits to the Office.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
Manage the Planning Manager such that the schedule reflects the status of the project.
Ensure that the schedule is resourced such that monthly cost performance and schedule performance indices are produced and reflect the true project position
Ensure that costs are captured and aligned to schedule activities
Hold regular meetings with procurement, accounts, planning, change control and cost control teams to ensure compatibility of information produced
Produce the monthly project controls information for the Clients report and brief management on the outputs
Ensure that approved change is captured in the programme and costs
Person Specification
Competencies:
A good understanding of complex programmes and some knowledge of Primavera P3 software
A good understanding of how budgets are established and their relationship to programme
Ability to manage a small team of planners and cost controllers
Produce informative reports for managers
Qualifications:
Likely to be educated to HNC or degree level, but candidates lacking these qualifications who have experience of project controls on a large project (£200m+) would also be considered.
