Lean Manager
Duties : Reporting to the Operation Director, the Lean Manager will be required to champion and lead Lean manufacturing improvement within the production facility. Together with department managers, take on the responsibility for specific projects and achieving results in line with local and corporate goals. Ensure training and coaching of all managers and employees to promote a continuous learning environment. Measure and report progress on an on-going basis using Lean Journey Assessment and Win scorecard. Promotion of lean throughout the business (all sites) and make recommendations for continuous improvements in all areas. Drives meetings on a monthly basis, providing the appropriate data. Participates in all areas of continuous improvement for the business, lean or otherwise.
Skills & Experience : Ideally the right candidate will have Lean manufacturing experience. Have a strong understanding of the Lean principles such as Value Stream Mapping, Just-in-time, demand flow, five S, visual management, continuous improvement process, kaizen, six sigma in addition to communication tools and statistical problem solving. Engineering and or business educated to degree level. Flexible and a highly self motivated individual. Strong computer experience with Word, Excel and PowerPoint is a must. Good communication skills, written and verbal. Have the confidence and capability to stand in front of an audience Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and manage people that are not direct reports.
Salary : Circa £30,000, but very open to negotiation depending on the improvement introduced
